REFLECTIONS

This year's theme is "Accepting  Imperfection". Hickory's Reflections contest will run from Sept. 26th - October 13th, 2024. The entries will be submitted online (more details soon) and a virtual art gallery will display student submissions in the future.

The contest is free to enter and all students can submit entries in every category (but only 1 per category). The categories are: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.

TK-2nd grade students will be competing in the Primary division and 3rd-5th grade students will be in the Intermediate division. There is also a separate "Special Artist" category that is open to any student with an IEP. These students can also choose to submit in a lower grade/division if that better meets their developmental level.

For any questions, feel free to contact Sunny Joo at hickoryptareflections@gmail.com.

Join us for Hickory PTA's Family Reflections Night on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024 from 5:00-6:30pm (location: Hickory cafeteria).

All families are welcome to come meet artists and past winners and learn about Hickory PTA's Reflections art contest. Stay for our PTA Association Meeting #1 at 6:30-7:00pm.

Congratulations to the 2023/24 Hickory PTA Reflections Winners!

We had another great year and 65 entries overall in all 6 categories! Our Hounds really did an amazing job interpreting the 2023-24 theme: "I am Hopeful Because...".

What is Reflections?

Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings, and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning.

Every year, students are presented with a new theme. Submissions can be in the form of art work, writing, poetry, any form of artistic expression. Participation is optional, however we encourage all students to participate!

Visit the National PTA Reflections page to see past winners!
